  • Location: Birmingham (Candidates may be required to work at any College Centre)

We are seeking an EHCP Coordinator to join our dedicated team. This role involves coordinating the process of reviewing and maintaining Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP) by working closely with students, their families, curriculum colleagues, and external agencies as prescribed by the SEND code of practice.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Lead on the operational processes of maintaining and reviewing EHCPs.
  • Prepare for EHCP reviews with students, parents/carers, and curriculum colleagues.
  • Liaise with external health and/or social care agencies for EHCP reviews.
  • Coordinate and chair EHCP review meetings.
  • Ensure correct exam concessions are applied for and adhered to.
  • Support decisions about the appropriateness of provision during admissions and when the college is named in an EHCP.
  • Support the transition process of prospective students by attending EHCP reviews.
  • Maintain high-quality information within the EHCPs, including writing outcomes for students.
  • Ensure timelines prescribed in the SEND Code of Practice are adhered to.
  • Lead on the application process to Local Authorities for students without EHCPs when a need has been identified.
  • Participate in recruitment activities and college events as appropriate.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Qualified to Degree level/PGC (desirable)
  • English, Mathematics, and Science Skills at a minimum of level 2.
  • Excellent standard of written and communication skills with high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Highly effective organisation skills.
  • Experience of working with students with Learning Difficulties and/or disabilities.
  • Up to date knowledge of the revised SEND Code of Practice and associated EHCPs/High Need Funding.
  • Experience of Safeguarding children and young adults.
  • Ability to work flexibly, use initiative, and work to pressure and tight deadlines.
  • A record of achievement against objectives and targets.
