Senior Pensions Officer
- Salary: £36,648 - £40,221 per annum (Dependant on experience)

Reed are supporting a Greater Manchester Local Authority in their recruitment to a Senior Pensions Officer position. As part of a well-established HR & OD, you will ensuring the effective delivery of all pensions processes, production of statutory returns, and compliance with statutory regulations.
You will provide support, guidance, and technical advice to Pension Officers and other key stakeholders, ensuring a responsive pension service. This role also involves supporting system developments utilising MHR iTrent and Pension Scheme systems. Knowledge of the Local Government Pension Scheme and the Teachers' Pensions Scheme is essential.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Process all pension work requests accurately within defined timescales and according to policies and procedures.
- Complete notifications to various pension funds accurately and promptly.
- Facilitate the production of annual returns for the Council and other Pension Schemes.
- Assist in the preparation of year-end and other statutory/non-statutory returns.
- Liaise with customers to ensure effective preparation of the payroll and resolution of pension queries.
- Provide input into design and implementation projects and support internal and external audits.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- CIPP or a willingness to achieve within 12 months.
- Demonstrable experience of operating pension processes from start to end with an emphasis on compliance.
- Demonstrable experience with payroll and pension systems and technologies.
- Knowledge of pension legislation and understanding of the principles and practice of efficient pension service operations serving multiple organisations.
- Knowledge of Local Government Pension Scheme, Teachers' Pensions Scheme. Experience of NHS Pension Scheme and NEST Pension Scheme's would be advantageous.
