NDT Technician

Your new company is a global Engineering Business within the Defence Manufacturing Sector. They are a world-renowned leader in their manufacturing processes and a key partner to numerous blue-chip organisations. They are known for their commitment to quality and innovation within engineering and have numerous sites & offices across the globe. Due to an increase in their order books, they are looking to build up the team with an NDT Technician as they continue to win work and expand their operations.

Your new role
Within your new role as an NDT Technician, you will be expected to complete RT, VT, MT & PT tests and carry out the inspection of products at various stages of the production process, with an emphasis on non-destructive testing (NDT).
Some of your more direct duties will include:

  • Ensuring the product quality of materials that are fabricated on the shop floor in a timely manner.
  • Review part prints, procedures and work instructions to complete testing.
  • Set up and perform non-destructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics
  • Coordinating with the Quality Manager on all applicable issues.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed in this position, it is essential you have:

  • Relevant qualifications in accordance with ISO9712
  • UK driving licence
  • Valid British passport

Your relevant experience for this role should also include:

  • The ability to read and accurately interpret drawings/specifications.
  • The ability to use Quality Instruments, i.e. Weld gauges, micrometres, steel rulers, etc.
  • Exposure of working within a Manufacturing/Engineering environment
  • Driving Continuous Improvement/Lean manufacturing
