Accounts Assistant, Woking, c£30000
A great opportunity for a bright, enthusiastic Accounts Assistant to join a forward-thinking business in Woking on a full-time permanent basis. This initially office-based role includes a mixture of purchase and sales ledger duties plus plenty of ad-hoc tasks in support of the general finance team.
Day-to-day duties in the role:
- Completing daily sales invoice runs and credit control tasks, including debt chasing and preparing overdue lists.
- Handling direct debit collections and posting receipts.
- Conducting bank reconciliations and monitoring the sales ledger email inbox for prompt responses.
- Setting up new customer accounts, completing credit checks, and issuing monthly statements.
- Raising credit notes, issuing refunds, and preparing monthly insurance declarations.
- Maintaining cash accounts and supporting audits.
- The role may include additional tasks as reasonably expected within the scope of the post.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Previous experience with Purchase Ledger and Sales Ledger, ideally within an SME Finance environment.
- Proficient in MS Office, with intermediate Excel skills.
- Knowledge of Sage 200 is advantageous but not essential.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent organisation, time management, and prioritisation skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- This role could suit someone studying an AAT course or equivalent.
