Job Title: Designer

Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 per annum depending on experience

A rapidly growing and established fashion-wear company in Salford is seeking a Designer to join their team at the fashion studio.
The ideal candidate needs to be responsible, accountable for research and development of customer accounts along with the inhouse clothing collection.
In this role, you will ensure that products meet the needs of the target customer.
You will be designing multi-product across a variety of styles and fabrication, for the GEN Z market, including denim (some denim knowledge and some experience in this field would be preferred).
Please note that the company does not offer sponsorship and therefore candidates must have the legal right to live and work in the UK and live within a commutable distance from Salford.
Please note that a junior role may be available for candidates with less experience, however all candidates must have a minimum of 1 years' experience in garment design.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Research current fashion trends and determining what consumers will like
- Create mood boards to show to clients
- Keep up to date with emerging fashion trends as well as general trends relating to fabrics, colours, and shapes
- Plan and develop (CAD) ranges, often based on theme
- Collaborate with the design team to develop ideas for new products based on research date
- Liaise closely with sales, buying and production teams on an ongoing basis to ensure items suit the customer, market, and price points
- Communication technical design information for customer samples
- Maintain the company identity and develop newness ranges for customers
- Work with team members to design cloths for upcoming seasons
- Select fabrics and trims
- Oversee the prototype sample process
- Arrange sample for customers meeting and maintain showroom newness
Requirements and skills
- Minimum of 1 year's garment design experience is essential
- Creativity, innovation, and flair
- An eye for colour and feel for fabrics and materials
- The ability to generate idea and concepts, use your initiative and think outside the box
- Strong computer-aided design (CAD) skills
- Strong ladies-wear design work experience
- Good computer literate
- Garment technology skills and knowledge
- A proactive approach
- Commercial awareness and business orientation
- Self-promotion and confidence
- Interpersonal, communication and networking skills
- Team working skills.
- Good organisation and time management.
- Travel may be required.
