Who are Ambient Support?
Ambient Support, a registered UK charity with over 25 years' experience in providing care and support services for older people, people with a mental health needs and people with learning disabilities.
Our residential care home, The Croft, is a community-based home for Older People in Amersham. We provide care and support to 60 residents, including up to 31 residents with a higher level of specific dementia care needs. This is a welcoming home from home environment offering regular activities and organised events*.*
The role of our Care Assistant:
- You will assist the people we support in participating in activities both within the Home and outside as well as escorting them to appointments in the community
- To fulfil a range of personal care tasks and other care work for both male and female people we support with various physical and emotional needs
- You will assist with simple food preparation on the suites and serve all meals to the people we support
- To work flexibly over a 24/7, 365 days a year basis, according to the demands of the service
- You will be required to assist housekeeping staff with keeping communal areas clean and odour free
Skills and attributes of our Care Assistant:
- Experience of supporting adults in a care setting or in the community.
- An awareness and understanding of high-quality home care.
- Good communication skills, patience, and flexibility.
- An understanding of safeguarding and person-centred support.
- A flexible working pattern and able to do shift work.
- Alternate weekend working pattern.
- Experience is desirable, however, is not essential, as we offer full training for all of our Care Staff.
