Role Highlights:
- 1:1 Support: As a Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for offering personalised assistance to a Reception pupil with ASC, ensuring they feel supported and engaged throughout the school day.
- Attention to Needs: The pupil can be quite needy, so your role will involve being particularly attentive to their emotional and educational needs.
- Collaborative Environment: You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to tailor learning experiences that help the child thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide focused 1:1 support to the pupil during classroom activities, playtime, and other school events.
- Help the pupil navigate the school day, offering guidance and reassurance when needed.
- Collaborate with the class teacher to adapt lesson plans and activities to suit the pupil's individual needs.
- Monitor the pupil's progress, offering feedback and suggestions to improve their experience at school.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant working with children with ASC is highly desirable.
- A patient, compassionate approach with the ability to be attentive to the pupil's needs.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- A valid DBS check or willingness to obtain one through Reeson Education.
