Supply Chain/Purchasing administrator
Our client located in Denton, Manchester, manufactures a wide range of office products. The business has a long history stretching back well over 100 years.
Reporting to the Commercial Manager at the factory this role will involve working as part of a team to ensure materials and stock is available for the factory to service production and customer demands. Key part of the role involves building a forecast from internal and customer forecast data. The forecast is used to advise the internal group supply chain of requirements going forward. The majority of material is made and supplied on a 2-3-month lead-time, where as our customer are on a 3-week lead-time, so being able to manage supply/inventory levels to ensure availability is key. Around 90% of Purchase spend is sourced within group, and knowledge of dealing both Imports & Sales Exports (through using a UK shipping Agent) is essential
Other material components are sourced locally from the UK, so experience of negotiations on Price and MOQs with suppliers is also essential.
In addition to the above other duties within involve covering and supporting other members of the Operations team, including production planning & sale order administration.

Import & Export - A good basic knowledge of procedures

Good Communication skills, verbal and written
HMRC Plastic Tax and DEFRA Extended Producer Responsibility for Packaging knowledge is also desirable but not essential.
