Interim Lettings & Allocations Service Manager Newcastle, UK

Posted by Adecco .

A fantastic opportunity has emerged for a specialist Lettings & Allocations Service Manager to join one of Adecco's leading public sector clients in an interim role, initially for 3-6 months.

This is a full time role (36 hours per week, Monday to Friday) and agile working as you only need to work in our client's Tyne & Wear office 1-2 times each week, so would suit a candidate based in the North of England. Having recently restructured their housing management service, our client is now focusing their attention to their lettings and allocations functions. They want to develop a range of services that are customer centric and better meet resident expectations, whilst remaining efficient and delivering value for money. They are therefore looking for an Interim to lead this review, whilst also leading the delivery of their existing services.

You will be required to lead the current lettings and allocations function across the organisation, and to fundamentally review all services falling within the remit of the service, making recommendations around policy, procedure, structure etc. This will include lettings, allocations, rehousing, mutual exchanges, temporary accommodation and decanting.

Essential requirements of the role include:

  • Extensive experience of reviewing and successfully transforming a lettings and allocations service, with demonstrable results.
  • In-depth knowledge of housing and homelessness legislation
  • A strong leader, able to support a team and organisation through change
  • Ability to quickly interpret complex information and data and translate this into a business case for change
  • Project management experience
  • Experience of delivering a responsible, efficient, high quality and customer centric lettings and rehousing service
  • Ability to lead, motivate and inspire others
  • Knowledge of Development, Housing and Immigration Law, Welfare Reform, working with vulnerable residents, Domestic Violence issues and Safeguarding.
  • Highly developed financial awareness and commercial acumen
  • Highly developed relationship, client and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and negotiate
  • Excellent communication, organisational and presentation skills
  • Strong resource planning and management skills

Only applicants who are available on short notice (1-3 weeks), are happy to work from our client's Tyne & Wear office 1-2 days each week and who feel they meet the above criteria need apply.
