Our client is a leading food business who supply to a variety of the major retailers. As they continue to expand and grow their presence in the marketplace they are now seeking a driven and ambitious Science and Technology Manager to join their business.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Expand a robust network of industry contacts to facilitate the management and growth of new and existing projects.
- Develop cross-functional collaboration internally and externally, leveraging category-level expertise to assemble the right teams for project success.
- Lead stakeholder engagement efforts to ensure seamless project delivery and alignment with business objectives.
- Manage science and technology initiatives within the business, driving innovation and efficiency.
- Demonstrate exceptional written communication skills, particularly in funding applications and external representation
- Understand and navigate the business environment, anticipating impacts on projects and identifying areas of emerging opportunity.
- Apply sharp problem-solving skills to address challenges and capitalise on opportunities.
- Self-motivated and capable of working autonomously, contributing significantly to the strategic direction of the business.
- Serve as an internal consultant on food science and technology
Qualifications & Skills:
- Strong foundation in science, food manufacturing, food engineering, and agri-food supply systems.
- Understanding of global challenges, climate impact of food, health, nutrition, and alternative manufacturing methodologies.
- Ability to anticipate future consumer needs and market trends, aligning projects with evolving demands.
- Awareness of decarbonisation technologies and their relevance to sustainable food manufacturing.
- Financially aware, with the ability to manage budgets and project resources effectively.
- Professional presentation skills, adept at communicating insights to diverse audiences.
