Nursery Manager

  • Job Type: Full-time, 8.30am - 4.30pm

We are looking for a Nursery Manager to provide professional leadership and management for our College nursery. The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic development and implementation of high-quality early years education and care, ensuring the nursery contributes strongly towards the College's aims.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the nursery in compliance with early years' legislation, DofE, and Ofsted requirements.
  • Act as the designated safeguarding officer and contribute to the cross-college safeguarding committee.
  • Oversee Special Education Needs coordination and promote inclusive practices.
  • Maintain professional relationships with local authority departments, regulatory bodies, and other agencies.
  • Manage recruitment, training, and development of nursery staff.
  • Implement nursery policies and procedures, ensuring professional standards are upheld.
  • Administer nursery records, manage invoicing, fee collection, and budgeting to ensure sustainability.
  • Collaborate with the marketing department to develop materials that promote the nursery.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree level qualification or significant experience in a Nursery setting.
  • Proven management and leadership experience in nursery settings.
  • Excellent knowledge of the current Early Years framework and child development.
  • Sound knowledge of legislation, regulations, and Ofsted guidance.
  • Experience supporting children with special education needs and disabilities.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills, able to work independently to tight deadlines.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, able to relate positively to parents, staff, students, and external agencies.
  • Experience managing budgets and knowledge of funding within PVI settings.
  • Proficient IT skills relevant to the role (e.g., Excel, Word).
