Manufacturing Manager
Location: Wembley
Salary: GBP70,000 - GBP80,000 per year
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8.30am - 4.30pm.
Job type: 12-month, Fix-term Contract
Bridge Recruitment is helping one of our well-established clients recruit for an experienced Manufacturing Manager to join their current team.
Responsibilities of the Manufacturing Manager:
- Ensure that a high level of Health and Safety is adhered to all times across the manufacturing and adjacent areas.
- Abide by our client's Core Values and Code of Ethics.
- Drive a performance culture within the manufacturing department, with ongoing performance analysis and regular feedback to the employees. Develop the supervisors and senior members of the team to drive that culture too.
- Lead and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
- Manage and monitor time and attendance for all production workers and apply a fair and consistent application of recommended codes of practice, with regular communication.
- Lead and oversee the relocation to a Northern Manufacturing Site, ensuring a smooth and minimally disruptive transition. Collaborate closely with the team and coordinate all necessary actions.
- Ensure that orders are produced on-time, to the desired quality level and within budgeted cost.
- Meet (and ideally beat) all manufacturing KPIs.
- Work closely with production planning to deliver the manufacturing plan attainment.
- Implement the best practice recommendations, particularly around work areas and associated equipment.
- Lead and coach a team of production supervisors to ensure the wider production team is being guided, motivated and managed appropriately
- Take the lead on disciplinary and grievance issues, ensuring that their procedures are implemented fairly and consistently
- Monitor and report any concerns and issues affecting site security.
- Work alongside and support all departments associated with the launch of new products or processes.
- Complete other ad hoc duties as and when required.
Requirements of the Manufacturing Manager:
- Have previously successfully managed a manufacturing operations facility or multi-skilled manufacturing teams and ideally in an electronic manufacturing environment.
- Possess well developed communication and interpersonal skills and be able to deal with people at all levels, both inside and outside of the business.
- Have sound practical knowledge of health and safety and employment legislation and their application.
- Have the confidence to communicate operational and safety issues upwards irrespective of the severity of the message.
- Be naturally well organized, structured, and able to handle the challenges of competing priorities.
- A self-starter who leads by example in terms of pace.
- Ideally a recognized manufacturing or engineering educational background and preferably to degree level.
