We are currently supporting a school who are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic School Science Technician to join their dynamic team at a well-regarded school in Gateshead.
This is a full-time, long-term temporary position with an immediate start.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the science department, ensuring that practical lessons run smoothly and safely.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and set up equipment and materials for science lessons.
- Assist teachers during practical sessions and demonstrations.
- Maintain and organise the science laboratories and prep rooms.
- Ensure all equipment is properly cleaned and stored after use.
- Manage inventory and order supplies as needed.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times.
- Support students in their use of equipment and materials.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Science Technician or in a similar role is preferred.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a laboratory setting.
- A passion for science and education.
