Purchase Ledger Clerk

This role offers an exciting opportunity to take ownership of various aspects of the purchase ledger process, ensuring everything is completed on time and in line with accounting requirements. Working for a household name Logistics business, who have been providing service for over 50 years. They have and maintain a great ethos and culture, which enables their teams to work so efficiently. Key Responsibilities-

  • Matching, checking, and coding invoices correctly
  • Preparing bank payments and producing weekly proposed payment runs
  • Processing staff expenses and maintaining weekly/monthly supplier statement records
  • Maintaining and reviewing the purchase ledger periodically to identify and correct any discrepancies
  • Assisting with purchase ledger reconciliations at month end and preparation of PO/Late invoice accrual
  • Maintaining relationships with suppliers and resolving any queries regarding outstanding payments

Ideal candidate-

  • Proven experience in purchase ledger processes and ledger maintenance
  • Proficiency in Sage Line 200, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and MS Teams
  • Experience working directly with a finance team to ensure accurate posting/recording of costs within the general ledger
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Self-discipline and initiative
  • Ability to work flexibly within a team
