A fantastic opportunity for a strong Administrator to join this excellent company as a Purchasing Assistant on a temporary to permanent basis with a view to start asap.

The key purpose of the Purchasing Assistant role is to:

  • Ensure the efficient ordering and tracking OTIF delivery of all indirect goods and services
  • Follow company procedures to ensure suppliers are appropriately qualified
  • Seek quotes from suppliers, compare information received, and negotiate the best value for a defined scope of services or goods
  • Support other members of the Purchasing Team as needed
  • Work with the Purchasing team to achieve our Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) targets and seek opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Management of the daily requisition process to ensure our team can order services and goods to support the business needs at the best value
  • Maintain pending PO status report and work with key stakeholders to expedite any overdue deliveries
  • Ensure all new suppliers follow the qualification and approval process and the data is recorded, to ensure compliance with company standards
  • Assist in the Supplier Complaints system to identify trends and check the efficiency of corrective actions
  • Assist the accounts department with any supplier-related invoice queries
  • Work with the Purchasing Team to maintain and continually improve systems
  • Issue routine system reports to analyse data and track KPI's
  • Any other duties as reasonably requested from time to time

Skills and Experience Required

  • Proactive and positive attitude
  • Team player with good internal and external communication skills
  • Experience in a high-volume transactional admin role
  • Strong organisational, self-management, and multitasking abilities
  • Mindset to identify problems and proactively seek solutions, independently or with support from the team
  • Great computer skills and ability to learn
  • Ability to make data-based decisions and recognise where matters should be escalated in a timely manner
  • Responsibility for personal safety and that of others
