We are currently seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to join our committed team.

Role Overview:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the educational and developmental needs of students with autism. You will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide individualized assistance, helping students access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals. This position requires a compassionate and patient individual with a strong commitment to enhancing the education experience of students with autism.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the teacher in delivering high-quality education to students with autism.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
  • Monitor and record students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to assessment reports.
  • Help with the preparation and organization of classroom materials and resources.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other staff to support the holistic development of students.
  • Assist with the supervision of students during break times and school activities.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a Learning Support Assistant, particularly with children with autism.
  • Knowledge and understanding of various special educational needs and effective support strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students with autism.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support (desirable but not essential).
