About the Role: GSL Education are currently seeking an enthusiastic, hardworking, and committed Cover Supervisor. We are looking for someone with a proactive 'can-do' attitude and a passion for doing whatever it takes.

The school is dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people. All appointments are subject to an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check (DBS) and satisfactory references.

Job Summary:

  • Provide classroom supervision for pupils where colleagues are absent from duty.
  • Complement the professional work of teachers by taking responsibility for agreed learning activities.
  • Maintain accurate records in the teacher's absence, such as providing feedback to the teacher and keeping accurate registers.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that lesson objectives set by a teacher are met.
  • Support students in completing tasks and understanding the material.
  • Report back on the behaviour of pupils during the class and any issues arising.

Qualifications:

  • 4 or more GCSEs at Grade C/4 or higher, including English and Maths (or equivalent grades/qualifications) essential.
  • Previous experience in a similar role would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • Strong classroom management skills and ability to promote a positive learning environment.
  • Good interpersonal and organisational skills.
