Position Overview:
We seek an experienced Cloud Platform Engineer to join our Infrastructure team in London. This role is essential in designing, implementing, and managing our Azure cloud environment, ensuring it meets the high standards required to support our global operations. Reporting to the Group Head of Infrastructure, you will be responsible for building and maintaining a secure, scalable, and efficient cloud platform that drives our business forward.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure on Azure, ensuring it is secure, scalable, and optimised for performance.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using tools like Terraform or Bicep.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell to support cloud operations and improve efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align cloud strategies with business goals and ensure seamless integration of cloud services.
  • Monitor cloud environments, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements to maintain high availability and disaster recovery.
  • Ensure compliance with security and governance policies across all cloud platforms.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to teams across the organisation on cloud best practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging cloud technologies and trends, recommending new tools and practices to enhance our cloud capabilities.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Cloud Platform Engineer, with deep expertise in Azure.
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Bicep.
  • Strong scripting skills in PowerShell for automation and management of cloud environments.
  • Experience in designing and implementing secure, scalable, and resilient cloud architectures.
  • Knowledge of cloud security principles and best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive and collaborative approach.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of translating complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working in a global organization, particularly within the insurance or financial services sectors.
  • Knowledge of additional cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud) is advantageous.
  • Azure certifications or other relevant cloud certifications.

Salary - £60,000 - £75,000 including bonus and benefits
