Finance Officer, Hybrid, London – Central, £33k

Unique opportunity to work as a Finance officer in a distinctive international development organisation based in Central London. Predominantly processing the income of the organisation and support the Financial Controller in running efficient and effective financial processing, financial controls, financial reporting and monitoring on all of the UK based income.

The Role

  • Financial Processing – processing donations from varied sources such as direct, website, online fundraising websites, legacy income, as well as non- donation related income – with the addition of cheque and cash processes into the bank.
  • Prepare periodic statements relating to fundraising campaigns and share these with relevant individual donors.
  • Financial administration - Manage the donations inbox and liaise with donors and prospective donors to provide information and respond to queries. As well as send letters to donors to acknowledge donations received, on a timely basis.
  • Ensure Gift Aid declaration forms are up to date and in line with current legislation.
  • Financial controls. - Complete bank reconciliations and all funds received for other agencies on a monthly basis.
  • Income reporting - Produce monthly reports for other agencies on donations designated to them by the branch.
  • To provide cover for the following tasks owned by the Finance Officer (Expenditure).

Experienced Needed:

  • Minimum of three years hands-on experience in financial accounting.
  • Advanced experience using Excel and integrated multi-ledger accounting systems.
  • Experience working in a multi-currency environment (desirable).
  • Experience of charity accounting and knowledge of such requirements.
  • Experience working as part of a small hands-on team.
  • Experience of filing Gift Aid claims.
