Long term futures is proud to offer this opportunity at a lovely SEMH school in Grantham. We are looking for a passionate and dedicated SEMH Teaching assistant who has experience working with ASD/ADHD/SEN. In this role you will be responsible for supporting children's behaviour and classroom learning, you will be working 1:1 with a pupil who has ASD and supporting group of children with complex needs.
Your role as an SEN teaching assistant may include.
- Supporting children's behaviour, helping nurturing SEN children to their full potential.
- Monitor student progress, ensuring they are meeting their goals and reporting concerns.
- Helping children understand teachers instructions - assist with personalised learning plans to ensure students individual needs are met.
- Support students with their personal care and daily routines, always ensuring dignity and safety
- Work with the class teacher, SENCo, and other support staff to develop and implement effective strategies for student progress
Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience working with SEN students
- Previous experience with a 1:1 role
- Strong Communication and teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with students.
- Must have a patient and caring method of teaching to deal with children who have complex needs.
