As this regularly changes, the successful candidate must be agile and reactive and good with change, and must understand complex concepts in a regulatory and legal standpoint, and how that will affect them as a bank and ensure they meet requirements.
The successful candidate must have held SMF16/SMF17 or CF10/CF11, at least 8 or 10+ years experience as an MLRO and head of compliance, must have experience working in Retail banking, as well as being up to date with current regulatory and knowledge including AML laws.
Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing and assisting Senior Management as required in the establishment and ongoing maintenance of the AML/CTF framework.
- To constantly develop and maintain policies and procedures of the AML/CTF framework in line with evolving statutory and regulatory obligations.
- Conduct an annual risk assessment of TBUK and map mitigating controls.
- Oversight of First Line of Defense (1LoD) procedures and monitoring programmes to ensure that the unusual transactions are identified and analysed.
- Receive and assess all internal Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) with onward reporting to the National Crime Agency (NCA) when required.
- To be TBUK's point of contact with NCA and other regulatory, law enforcement and investigatory agencies on AML matters.
Personal Specifications
- Must have held SMF16 or SMF17 or CF10/CF11
- At least 8 or 10+ years experience as an MLRO and head of compliance
- Banking experience preferred
- Current regulatory experience and knowledge including AML laws.
- Financial crime background and experience preferred
- 2nd LoD preferred
- Retail Banking and financial services experience
