Accounts Assistant

Are you an experienced Sales Ledger and Credit Control Assistant or a Trainee Accountant studying AAT looking to gain hands-on experience in a busy finance department? Our well-established M&E client in Redhill is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented individual to join their finance team. This role is focused on sales ledger management and credit control.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Raise and process sales invoices, reconcile accounts, and handle customer queries
  • Proactively chase overdue payments, issue notices, and liaise with customers to ensure prompt payments
  • Prepare weekly reports on invoicing, aged debt, and payment progress
  • Assist with PQQs, self-billing agreements, and retention releases
  • General finance administration including handling incoming calls and email queries
  • Liaise with the outsourced payroll provider when required
  • Support HR administration with onboarding and offboarding processes, maintaining employee records

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in Sales Ledger and Credit Control (preferred but not essential)
  • Knowledge of credit control procedures, invoicing, and account reconciliation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and accounting software
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ideal Candidates:

  • Individuals with experience in Sales Ledger, Credit Control, or Accounts
  • Trainee Accountants or those studying AAT or other accounting qualifications

Salary:

  • Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum (for experienced candidates), £20,000 - £25,000 per annum (for trainees with college day release)
