Based within the Curriculum & Quality team and work closely with Directors/Programme Managers in providing an effective and responsive administrative support for the curriculum.

The post holder will act as the main point of contact for general queries and will liaise with learners, staff, central college services, and other customers to ensure that administrative requirements are met to support high-quality teaching and learning.

8:30 - 17:00 Mon - Thur

8:30 - 16:00 Fri

Key Responsibilities of an Administrator

  • Provide administrative support for areas of learning and act as the first point of contact for information for all learners and potential learners, parents and guardians, teachers and external stakeholders
  • Carry out full administration of the meetings for specified areas of learning and other meetings and act as minute secretary, ensuring that minutes are distributed to all appropriate parties
  • To collate and input data for the MIS Department as directed by the Lead and liaise with them to ensure other systems like REMS and ProMonitor have consistent information
  • Take and log details of student absence on a daily basis and ensure that all appropriate lecturers/personal tutors are informed
  • Undertake general administrative tasks to include various correspondence, production of student disciplinary letters, induction paperwork and certificates, creation of quality files, assistance with the organisation of curriculum area events, completion of college documentation for refunds/cost transfers/cash requests, post collection/dispatch, collation of sessional staff pay claims setting up of meetings and other general admin duties as appropriate

Key Competencies of an Administrator

  • Significant experience in a high-profile, busy and varied administrative role
  • High level of personal enthusiasm in seeking to achieve tasks and goals
  • Ability to produce reports, letters, minutes, tables, spreadsheets etc. speedily and in a clear and concise style using Microsoft Office packages
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Awareness and understanding of the need for confidentiality and discretion at all times
  • Experience of working within an education or training environment
