We are looking for a recently qualified or established Tax Senior with aspirations to progress to an Assistant Manager and beyond. This role involves managing a portfolio of corporation tax clients and overseeing their compliance cycle, with the support of senior team members, and participating in advisory work.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Prepare and potentially review UK corporation tax computations.
- Monitor reporting and payment deadlines.
- Advise the audit and accounts team on tax accounting entries and disclosures.
- Train and mentor junior colleagues within the Business Tax Team.
- Provide corporation tax compliance proposals and quotes to prospective clients.
- Coordinate and review other business tax-related returns, subject to experience.
- Manage financial performance in line with KPIs.
- Handle correspondence with clients and HMRC.
- Identify opportunities for tax planning, risk mitigation, and cross-selling between service lines.
- Assist with ad hoc projects and duties as required.
- Adhere to the Firm's technical, ethical, risk, and compliance procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Corporate tax technical and practical knowledge.
- Understanding of tax issues affecting owner-managed businesses (OMBs) and their shareholders.
- Familiarity with other business taxes and tax reporting processes is preferable.
- Knowledge of UK accounting standards and competence in interpreting accounts and financial information.
- Strong IT skills, including MS Office and databases; Alphatax is ideal but not essential.
- Excellent communication and organisation skills.
