Corporate Tax Senior

We are looking for a recently qualified or established Tax Senior with aspirations to progress to an Assistant Manager and beyond. This role involves managing a portfolio of corporation tax clients and overseeing their compliance cycle, with the support of senior team members, and participating in advisory work.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Prepare and potentially review UK corporation tax computations.
  • Monitor reporting and payment deadlines.
  • Advise the audit and accounts team on tax accounting entries and disclosures.
  • Train and mentor junior colleagues within the Business Tax Team.
  • Provide corporation tax compliance proposals and quotes to prospective clients.
  • Coordinate and review other business tax-related returns, subject to experience.
  • Manage financial performance in line with KPIs.
  • Handle correspondence with clients and HMRC.
  • Identify opportunities for tax planning, risk mitigation, and cross-selling between service lines.
  • Assist with ad hoc projects and duties as required.
  • Adhere to the Firm's technical, ethical, risk, and compliance procedures.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Corporate tax technical and practical knowledge.
  • Understanding of tax issues affecting owner-managed businesses (OMBs) and their shareholders.
  • Familiarity with other business taxes and tax reporting processes is preferable.
  • Knowledge of UK accounting standards and competence in interpreting accounts and financial information.
  • Strong IT skills, including MS Office and databases; Alphatax is ideal but not essential.
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills.
