JOB TITLE: Master Scheduler

Job Summary

Elevation Recruitment Group are seeking a proactive and strategic Master Scheduler to join our client's team in Matlock. The successful candidate will support the Head of Supply Chain in driving the strategic direction of the Planning team, with a focus on medium to long-term planning cycles. This role is critical in managing the flow of materials into the plant and through the production process, ensuring the application of best practices throughout the supply chain to meet customer demands efficiently.

**Key Objectives of the Role:

  • Develop and Maintain Master Production Schedule (MPS): Create and manage a comprehensive MPS to align production with demand forecasts and inventory targets.
  • ERP System Management: Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of the ERP system to ensure its effectiveness in supporting supply chain operations.
  • Demand Forecasting and Capacity Planning: Implement and sustain robust S&OP processes to forecast demand and plan capacity accurately.
  • On-Time Product Launch: Ensure timely product launches within the plant while adhering to specified inventory levels.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track and report on site performance through daily, weekly, and monthly reports, providing key insights to the Head of Supply Chain.
  • Supplier and Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and customers to foster partnerships that benefit all stakeholders.
  • Support Continuous Improvement: Participate in PFMEA/Internal Audit activities and other initiatives aimed at improving efficiency, reducing waste, and enhancing overall performance.
  • Despatch Coordination: Work closely with the Despatch team to ensure finished goods stock leaves the site promptly, supporting the achievement of weekly sales and OTIF targets.
  • Operational Plan Oversight: Ensure planning schedules are being delivered effectively and adjust priorities when necessary to meet OTIF requirements.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously seek ways to improve planning processes and overall performance.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Provide leadership within the Planning team and collaborate effectively with other departments, including Operations, Technical, and Quality, to meet site objectives.
  • Deputising: Act as the deputy for the Head of Supply Chain as needed.

**The Applicant:

  • Strategic and Tactical Planning Expertise: Thorough understanding of both tactical and strategic planning, with a proven track record of achieving key metrics.

  • Industry Experience: Significant experience in a similar industry, with extensive knowledge of ERP systems.

  • ERP System Implementation: Experience in the implementation or setup of ERP systems (desirable).

  • Lean Manufacturing Knowledge: Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing methodologies and tools.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with key functions to ensure weekly and monthly plans are met.

  • Personal Qualities:

  • Strong interpersonal and team-working skills.

  • Advanced IT skills, particularly in Excel.

  • Excellent negotiation and influencing abilities.
