About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated Software Developer to join a team on a contract basis. The successful candidate will be instrumental in shaping the future of scientific computing applications.
Main Duties:
- Engage with internal & external stakeholders to gather system requirements, leading to the specification of projects.
- Develop and maintain documentation according to best practices, including software design specifications, test plans, and review reports.
- Contribute to the design and development of relational databases in collaboration with the Database Administrator (DBA).
- Provide end-user technical support, be an active member of the service desk team, and manage system change requests.
- Develop, deploy, and maintain scientific computing applications, ensuring they meet our high standards of quality and performance.
Specific Experience / Qualifications Required:
- A minimum of a Level 4 qualification in Computing, Software Engineering, or a related discipline with at least 50% computing content.
- At least 1 year of commercial experience in systems analysis within the last three years, including:
- Development of software solutions using the Microsoft .NET Framework or .NET Core.
- Relational database design & development.
- Testing and validating developed application code.
