Job Title: UK Fleet Project Manager

Location: Hybrid from Coleshill
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £50,000-£60,000 + £550 car allowance

Job Description:

As the UK Fleet Project Manager, you will provide technical and project management services across various operations, including IPG, Energas, and relevant third-party agents. This role involves collaboration with third-party service providers to ensure alignment with current standards and operating practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all UK fleet asset capital refurbishment activities using both internal and external resources.
  • Work closely with operational management to reduce capital refurbishment costs while improving equipment safety and reliability.
  • Provide technical project support for various fleet and facility maintenance functions within the UK operations.
  • Ensure appropriate specification, selection, and deployment of vehicles to meet operational requirements, safety standards, and vulnerable road user considerations.
  • Collaborate with relevant departments to update or replace HGVs and commercial vehicles in line with company policies.
  • Ensure vehicle selection aligns with alternative fuels transition objectives.
  • Plan and coordinate critical asset investment projects to ensure compliance with maintenance policies, safety standards, and technical requirements.
  • Develop investment strategies to comply with company guidelines.
  • Identify and implement critical safety standards.
  • Control annual budget requirements to improve operational efficiency and safety standards.
  • Provide technical support to operational teams on all fleet-related dispense systems to maintain compliance, safety, and reliability.
  • Review and implement improvements across all systems (cryogenic and electrical) to enhance safety, reliability, and compliance.
  • Assess and validate new technologies/processes to expand business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with all relevant business areas to ensure effective change management processes.
  • Conduct ongoing research and development of new technology opportunities related to vehicle safety critical system improvements and vessel volume/capacity optimisation.
  • Prepare business case justifications to facilitate effective business-level decisions.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication abilities.
  • Effective time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Technical qualification, minimum HNC/HND level in a relevant discipline (e.g., Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering).
  • NEBOSH Certificate in Health and Safety (Desirable).
  • Previous experience in a project engineering role within a relevant industry (e.g., process/chemical manufacturing, automotive manufacturing).
  • Proven track record in demonstrating project engineering discipline and theory.
  • Strong technical and practical engineering skills.
  • Good understanding of commercial aspects of refurbishment activities, including budgeting and deadlines.
  • Determination and commitment to fulfilling all aspects of the role to the highest potential.
  • Ability to communicate and present effectively at all organisational levels.
  • Competency in risk assessment and SOP generation.
  • Proficiency with IT applications and systems.
  • Clean driving license.
