Mechanical Design Engineer - Residential, Commercial and Defence projects - Norwich
A M&E Building Services Consultancy are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Design Engineer to be based in their Norwich office.
Their multidisciplinary approach ensures they have all the skills and expertise required to resource a project from conception to completion. They offer a comprehensive electrical and mechanical service across many sectors including public sector, retail, commercial, education, healthcare, military, industrial and domestic developments.
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be tasked with carrying out the following duties:
- Development of detailed designs and CAD drawings for control systems.
- Preparing GA layouts, detail drawings, assembly drawings, sketches & diagrams.
- Preparing detailed manufacturing drawings, checking dimension of parts, materials to be used, relation of one part to another and parts to the whole assembly.
- Preparing design concepts for bid purposes.
- Preparing electrical schematic drawings using 2D or Autocad electrical packages.
- Preparing Mechanical Designs using 3D modelling software.
- Co-ordinate design / specifications with all other disciplines.
- Maintain comprehensive technical files for all projects worked on.
Successful candidates should have the following skills and experience:
- PC literate with experience of Word, Excel and databases.
- HNC Mechanical Engineering qualification would be desirable.
- Experience of Autocad 2D and Autocad electrical.
- Solid understanding of drafting techniques and familiarity with engineering terminology.
- Mechanical aptitude with ability to complete basic mathematical calculations.
- Experience of Inventor 3D Modelling Software.
- Ability to travel to clients sites as necessary.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proven track record with a building services Consultancy or Contractor environment.
