Job Title: Credit Controller

Hours of Work: Monday to Thursday, 9.00am to 5.30pm – 1 hr Lunch

Friday, 09.00am to 5.00pm – 30 mins Lunch

Paying up to £28,000

We are currently partnering with a leading market leader based in Reading. To support their growing finance team and sustain their impressive success, they are seeking a skilled Credit Controller to join their dynamic team.

In this role, you will be instrumental in overseeing credit and collections for the company's operations. Your mission is to ensure timely and accurate payments from clients while maintaining strong relationships and safeguarding against credit risks. Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily processing of company invoices and credit notes.
  • Reconciliation of statements, credit cards, and petty cash.
  • Proactively manage a portfolio of customer accounts to ensure timely payment and resolution of outstanding balances.
  • Obtain payments from clients using effective collection techniques via phone and email.
  • Address payment inquiries and resolve billing discrepancies by communicating with clients across multiple channels.
  • Set up and maintain accurate records for suppliers and customers.
  • Reconciliation of intercompany transactions.
  • Maintain clear, detailed notes on debt collection progress for management reporting.
  • Participate in monthly Sales Ledger Reviews, ensuring completion within agreed timeframes.

Desired Experience:

  • Proficient in Excel and ERP systems
  • Highly detail-oriented and organised.
  • Proven experience within an office environment, would be extremely beneficial applicants have credit control, accounts receivable, or related financial experience
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, capable of effective interaction with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Degree either Finance or Accounting
