With a commitment to delivering high-quality electrical solutions and exceptional customer service, we are seeking a skilled Domestic Electrician to join our team. If you are a qualified electrician with experience in domestic settings and a passion for providing safe and reliable electrical installations, we want to hear from you.
As a Domestic Electrician, you will be responsible for performing electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs in residential properties. You will work independently or as part of a team to ensure that electrical systems meet safety standards and regulations. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a customer-focused approach to service delivery.
Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems, including wiring, sockets, switches, and lighting fixtures in domestic properties.
- Ensure compliance with electrical regulations and safety standards (e.g., BS 7671) during installations and inspections.
- Conduct electrical testing and inspections to verify the integrity and functionality of electrical installations. Troubleshoot electrical faults and identify the root cause of electrical problems.
- Perform repairs and replacements of faulty components to restore electrical systems to working order.
- Respond promptly to emergency call-outs to address electrical issues in domestic properties. Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries, concerns, and requests in a professional and courteous manner.
- Communicate effectively with homeowners to explain electrical issues, proposed solutions, and associated costs.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment and ensure minimal disruption to customers' daily activities.
- Document all electrical work performed, including installation records, inspection reports, and maintenance logs.
- Complete necessary paperwork, such as certificates and compliance documentation, to verify the safety and legality of electrical installations.
Required Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 Electrotechnical Qualification or equivalent, such as City & Guilds 2360 Parts 1 & 2 or City & Guilds 2357. This is often seen as a standard entry-level qualification for electricians in the UK. Valid ECS (Electrotechnical Certification Scheme) card or equivalent certification.
- Thorough knowledge of electrical systems, components, and wiring regulations (e.g. BS 7671).
- Strong technical skills and ability to interpret electrical diagrams and schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.
- Full UK driving license and willingness to travel to various job sites as required.
