Job Purpose:
As a Graduate Site Operative, you will work alongside our the Estates Manager, gaining valuable experience in maintaining and managing school facilities. This role will allow you to develop practical skills, take on real responsibilities, and contribute to creating a safe and welcoming environment for our school community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Hands-On Maintenance: Carry out general maintenance tasks, including small repairs, painting, and decorating, helping to keep our school in top condition.
- Operational Support: Assist with porterage duties, including moving equipment and supplies, and help manage site security procedures, such as gate duties and CCTV monitoring.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Conduct regular inspections, including fire drills and legionella flushing, ensuring our facilities meet safety standards.
- Supplier and Contractor Liaison: Gain experience overseeing suppliers and contractors during on-site work.
- Event Preparation: Participate in setting up for school events, with the flexibility to work later shifts when required (with prior notice).
- Outdoor Maintenance: Contribute to maintaining our outdoor areas, including litter picking, leaf-blowing, and gritting during winter months.
- Driving Duties: Serve as the primary minibus driver when needed (a clean UK driver's license is essential).
What We're Looking For:
- Recent Graduate: Ideal for those who have recently completed their studies and are looking to start their career in facilities management or a related field.
- DIY Enthusiast: Someone with basic DIY skills or a willingness to learn, with an eye for detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Organized and Reliable: Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Good Communicator: Excellent communication skills for reporting tasks and interacting with staff.
- Team Player: Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Full UK Driver's License: A clean UK driver's license is required, or a commitment to obtaining one.
