Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and personable Housing Assistant to join our team in supporting individuals experiencing homelessness as they transition to permanent housing options. This role is pivotal in ensuring that families and individuals receive the necessary support and guidance during this critical time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Calling People to Make Offers: Reach out to homeless individuals to make housing offers.
- Completing Referral Paperwork: Accurately complete all necessary referral documentation.
- Engaging with Families: Communicate effectively with families to understand and document their housing needs.
- Updating Systems: Ensure all information is logged correctly and systems are up-to-date.
- Emailing Internal Stakeholders: Maintain regular communication with internal stakeholders via email.
- Pulling Information Together for Reporting: Compile and organize data for reporting purposes.
Requirements:
- Personable and Professional: Ability to handle difficult situations with empathy and professionalism.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- PVG Certification: A PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) certification is required for this role.
