This Interim Product Governance Director role is a pivotal position in the Risk & Compliance department of a leading insurance company. The successful candidate will manage key product governance initiatives, ensuring regulatory adherence and product quality.

Description

  • Update the overall Product Governance Framework for UK and EU aligned to the businesses values and regulatory obligations including FCA Handbook and Insurance Distribution Directive.
  • Assess, recommend and work with the business to implement improvements to product related processes including product oversight and governance policy, fair value assessment, distributor oversight, and the approach to vulnerable customers;
  • Through clear capture of roles and responsibilities, improve and enhance the co-ordination and information sharing both between our different teams and with our clients and other distribution partners;
  • Support the development and improvement of procedures for product related reporting including consumer duty management information, senior management and Board reporting (including annual reports) and regulatory submissions;
  • Prepare implementation plans to embed revised policies and procedures within day to day activities
  • Determine the resources required to implement changes and make a recommendation on the future operating model for product governance in the UK and EU.

Profile

A successful Interim Product Governance Director should have:

  • A strong academic background in Risk Management, Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience of dealing with the FCA, ideally within an Insurance Industry
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of product governance within the insurance industry.
  • Proven experience in managing and implementing product governance frameworks and controls.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to influence and engage with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements.
