Posted by City & Capital .

Dear Applicant,

We at the City and Capital group are pleased to be representing a highly respected and fast growing investment house and commercial property finance lender who have been operating with great success in the space since 2006.

Our client offer a range of property loans designed for commercial borrowers, such as professional landlords/property investors and property developers. Such clients have access to up to £50m+ in funding for short term property loans such as bridging finance and development exits, as well as access to commercial term & BTL products to support landlord portfolio growth.

Due to their innovative range of loans and a solution based approach to lending they are growing at an incredible rate. They are targeting a £3.5bn loan book in due course, which will be driven by c£2bn in new lending in the current financial year.

Due to this they are keen to grow their Credit Risk function with the addition of an ambitious, hardworking & confident Senior Credit Risk Manager or who will assist with ensuring efficient and accurate oversight the credit risk functions within the organisation as they head into this key stage of growth.

The newly created role will provide excellent opportunities to progress within as the team continues to grow around you. As the first one in you will be in a natural position to take further responsibility once you are embedded in the business and are performing well.

Senior Credit Risk Manager

This is a new role within our clients structure and the role will be a balance of first and second line defence, including assisting the underwriting team and Senior Credit Risk Manager with assessments of complex loans from new applicants, as well as managing credit risk decisions for existing borrowers within the loan book, who may be looking for additional funds, or to refinance existing loan arrangements.

In addition to the daily credit risk duties supporting and advising on loans, you will also play a key role in our clients development of credit risk policies, principles and procedures. Something that is a key element of this role as our client are often launching new funding lines which impact on appetite and aspects such as product features, as well as launching new products - such as their recent launch of their commercial BTL loan solution.

As this will be a central role within the business, another key stakeholder to work closely with will be our clients compliance team who manage aspects such as financial crime risk. It is expected that you will work closely with this business as a joined up approach to ensure all risk is covered prior to loans being funded.

As a senior member of the credit team you will also be expected to add value to and influence the credit and risk committees and will take oversight of aspects such as loss event recording and reporting and root cause analysis feedback.

Ultimately you will assist the business with ensuring that activity and loans are in line with the credit risk framework and will ensure that changes to this framework are trained across key stakeholders within the business. You will also play a key role in the preparation of credit risk strategy papers and assist with the onboarding and implementation of new funding lines and products from a credit risk perspective.

On Offer

Our client are ideally looking to pay between c£60k-£80k for the ideal individual. The range is broad as they are willing to consider individuals with a range of experience. Higher offers may be considered for exceptional experience and potential. This will be complemented with access to our client favourable bonus scheme too, which will assist with boosting income year on year.

Most notably our client are in huge growth. They have doubled in size each year since 2020 and are closing in on a £2bn loan book. The intention for the coming period is to double again, which will see a huge increase in lending volumes, further funding lines, new applications (they are growing their BDM team substantially as we speak) and requirements for existing borrowers to refinance or re-borrow from the business.

Couple this with our clients strong and proven promote policy, then this role is expected to come with plenty of scope to progress internally, which will allow you to propel both your career standing and earnings forward quickly within, once excellent performance is delivered.

Please note that due to the central position of this role and required daily engagement with the underwriting, loan management, sales, compliance and senior management teams, that this role will be based in either our clients Mayfair or Victoria offices, Monday - Friday.

Next Steps

I hope this is helpful for you and has given you a better understanding of the business, available role and what the long term potential can be for an ambitious, loyal and hardworking member of our clients team.

I do not expect this role to be available or very long. Therefore if this is of interest then simply apply and your profile and experience will be reviewed by one of the team and if deemed suitable we will arrange to contact you to discuss further and look to get you moving forward in the application process.

We look forward to hearing from you!

Kind Regards

The City and Capital Team
