  • Location: Streatham, London
  • Grade: Scale 5, spine points 12-15
  • Salary Range: £29,364 - £30,852 pro rata per annum, term time only
  • Reporting to: Class Teacher
  • Responsible for: Children within setting

Reed Education are looking for an Early Years Educator to join our education team, contributing to the efficient running of our nursery or infant classes. This role is integral in providing high-quality education and care in a stimulating environment, aligned with the school and Council's policies.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Ensure each child's full development in a social, physical, psychological, and cultural sense.
  • Share responsibility for preparing, planning, and delivering a stimulating and caring environment, with a focus on health and safety.
  • Participate in planning and organising play and educational activities, observing and assessing children's progress.
  • Foster children's development and independence.
  • Encourage children in developing English and their own language.
  • Contribute to school record keeping, curriculum development, and pastoral arrangements.
  • Provide intimate care while encouraging independence.
  • Be a key worker for a group of children, overseeing their introduction and settling in, planning, tracking, and evaluating their progress.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Educated to at least GCSE grade C standard or equivalent in English and maths.
  • Completion of a Teaching Assistant programme of study e.g., NVQ3.
  • Recent experience as a teaching assistant in a school setting.
  • Ability to relate well to children and adults and work constructively as part of a team.
  • Computer literacy and basic knowledge of First Aid.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection with up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation.
