We're currently representing a prestigious Top 25 Accountancy Firm, who are actively seeking driven, ambitious professional to join as their Head of Team in Letchworth.

The role:

As the Head of Team, you will be responsible for leading a team that delivers a wide range of annual compliance services, including corporate tax, annual accounts, and personal tax, as well as outsourcing services such as bookkeeping and management reporting. You will manage a diverse portfolio of clients and work closely with Client Relationship Partners, the audit team, and tax specialists across the firm.

Reporting directly to the Head of OMB, you will play a crucial role in supporting departmental objectives and contributing strategically to the broader goals of the firm.

Key duties will include:

  • Setting clear performance targets, monitoring outcomes, and coordinating work planning.
  • You'll be responsible for fostering professional growth within your team through targeted training programmes.
  • Acting as the primary point of contact, you will manage client relationships, oversee the preparation and delivery of statutory accounts, corporation tax returns, and personal tax returns, and conduct thorough reviews to ensure accuracy.
  • You'll attend key client meetings to discuss strategic issues and identify opportunities for value-added services.
  • You will manage client billing, credit control, and overall client account administration.
  • You'll strive to exceed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) set by the Head of OMB for both your personal performance and client portfolio management.

Requirements:

  • Hold an ACA or ACCA qualification with extensive experience in a practice setting.
  • Possess deep technical knowledge in corporate accounting and tax matters, including UK GAAP, FRS102, IFRS, and ISAs, and capable of serving as a technical resource for the team.
  • Have prior supervisory experience, with a proven track record of managing and developing a team effectively.
