Accounts Payable Assistant

The Role

We are looking for a highly motivated Account Payable Assistant to join our fantastic finance team in Cobham. This role requires a candidate who is well-versed in processing invoices, reconciling statements and handling queries.

The Person

The applicant should ideally have:

  • Solid experience within purchase and sales ledger, billing.
  • Good Excel skills.
  • Be a team player with a collaborative, ‘can do' attitude, willingness to adapt and desire to learn new tasks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Knowledge of Xero and Approval Max desirable but not essential.
  • AAT studier/qualified and/or degree in Accountancy & Finance, plus keen to continue studying.
  • A key collaborator with all stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Full responsibility for accounts payable, including posting/coding invoices, reconciling supplier statements, monitoring and resolving queries, posting supplier payments, issuing remittances, processing expense claims.
  • Conduct regular bank reconciliations in collaboration with Accounts Receivable Assistant to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Assist with financial audits and liaise with auditors to provide requested information and resolve queries.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure financial data is captured accurately and on time.
  • Preparing weekly payment runs, managing outgoing payments effectively.
  • Monitoring the accounts email
  • Other ad-hoc duties as required.
