Are you passionate about making workplaces safer and more efficient? We are offering an exciting opportunity to learn and grow into the role of a Safety, Health and Environment Technician. Through structured training and hands-on experience, you'll develop the knowledge and skills to support site leadership in achieving Health, Safety, Security, Environmental, and Quality (HSSEQ) objectives.

The duration of the course is 14-15 months of learning and 3 months for End Point Assessment (fully complete within 2 years)

In terms of learning, 10% will be virtual or face to face workshops, 20% online study and 70% work based activity and projects.

The qualification achieved at the end is a Safety, Health and Environment Technician Level 3, IOSH Certificate and Train the trainer certificate

As a Safety, Health and Environment Technician, you will work closely with our experienced advisors and site leadership, helping to ensure compliance with safety regulations, reduce risks, and promote a strong safety culture. This is an ideal role for someone eager to start their career in Health and Safety, with opportunities for growth and professional development.

To Excel in This Role, You'll Be

  • Eager to learn and gain relevant qualifications in Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, NCRQ, IOSH membership).
  • Motivated to develop your understanding of hazard identification, risk assessments, and safety procedures.
  • Interested in developing skills in emergency response management, incident investigation, and safety culture promotion.
  • Keen to collaborate with various teams and build your communication and influencing skills.

Key Responsibilities (With Training and Support)

  • Assist in providing HSSEQ support to the site and ensuring safety procedures are in place.
  • Help with the management and reporting of hazards, near misses, and incidents.
  • Support in overseeing safe systems of work, including permit-to-work and energy isolation procedures.
  • Participate in safety culture initiatives and help promote a proactive safety environment.
  • Learn how to develop and deliver HSSEQ training for the site.
