Condition Monitoring Engineer

A large electrical engineering company who design, install and maintain LV/HV electrical equipment are looking to recruit an experienced Condition Monitoring Engineer to support their clients UK wide, and with some occasional trips to EU and Worldwide.

The role of the Condition Monitoring Engineer is to liaise with the internal sales department, production engineers and clients on issues and queries to do with condition monitoring equipment placed on large motors to identify possible wear and upcoming issues. Some support will be verbally or by email and some will be site based in person.

Responsibilities of Condition Monitoring Engineer:

  • Provide customer support for online/offline condition monitoring solutions, including installation, commissioning, and training
  • Conduct online/offline measurements at customer sites
  • Prepare technical reviews and compile customer reports, such as Partial Discharge reports, commissioning reports, and other technical documents
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners/contractors to ensure project completion
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge on Condition Monitoring products and their applications
  • Assist the sales team with technical reviews, equipment selection, and site surveys
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for customers as required by the business

Required skills of Condition Monitoring Engineer:

  • Ideally HND / HNC or Degree in electrical or electronic engineering, or relevant apprenticeship
  • Experience of working in a field service based role and happy to travel when required
  • Knowledge of HV electrical rotating machines, AC & DC motors and generators
  • Proven experience with condition monitoring equipment and knowledge on Partial Discharge
