Crowe Watson Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting for an Accounts Semi Senior on behalf of a leading firm of Chartered Accountants in Southend-on-Sea. The successful candidate will work closely with a friendly and experienced team, assisting in the preparation of accounts for a varied portfolio of clients, including limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders. You will gain hands-on exposure to a broad range of work and enjoy plenty of client contact, helping to develop your technical and interpersonal skills in a progressive and professional setting. Study support may also be offered for those working towards their AAT, ACA or ACCA qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of statutory accounts for a variety of clients
  • Supporting senior staff with audit and assurance work (where applicable)
  • Liaising with clients to request records and resolve queries
  • Assisting with VAT returns and management accounts
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards and legislation

Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of 1 years previous experience working within a UK Practice environment
  • AAT qualified or currently studying AAT/ACA/ACCA (study support available)
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
  • Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Good knowledge of accounting software (e.g. Sage, QuickBooks, Xero)
