We are seeking an HR Assistant to join a great client of ours who we have met and worked with for some time, in this role you would support the HR Director, UK and EMEAI, in planning, developing, recommending, and implementing human resources activities, policies, and procedures throughout the business. The HR Assistant will act as a liaison between HR and employees, ensuring smooth communication and prompt resolution of requests and questions.

Day to day of the role:

  • Assist with staffing activities, maintaining records to conform to UK regulations, and fulfilling equal opportunities responsibilities.
  • Support training and employee development programs.
  • Contribute to performance appraisal programs to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity.
  • Help ensure HR functions comply with legal requirements and government reporting regulations.
  • Assist with the implementation of HR policies and procedures; maintain the Employee Handbook.
  • Manage department record and report filing, including HR, Health and Safety, and Environmental data.
  • Conduct inductions for new starters and process leavers.
  • Attend meetings as the HR representative.
  • Assist with the Health & Safety and Green Committees, meetings, and follow through with actions where necessary.
  • Support the administration of compensation programs and assist with payroll administration.
  • Respond to benefits-related inquiries and participate in annual open enrolment communication and audits.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative.
  • Good working knowledge of the MS Office suite; experience with Sage HR is advantageous.
  • Ability to establish and reassess priorities and work to deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to build great working relationships at all levels.
  • Committed to continuous improvement.
  • Working towards or willing to start working towards a CIPD Qualification.
  • Previous HR experience is advantageous.
