Liability Claims Handler - Casualty

Location: Hybrid/Leeds/Greater Leeds Area
Hours: Full-time 35 hours per week, Monday-Friday

The role of the Liability Claims Handler is to efficiently handle EL & PL claims for both Personal Injury and Property Damage.

The successful candidate will manage an allocated caseload, completing enquires in relation to policy indemnity, legal liability and quantum, reporting to clients and ensuring that claims are handled proactively in accordance with the handling philosophy of Casualty Claims Solutions and their clients.

This exciting opportunity will see the successful candidate working as part of a dedicated team providing a first-class proactive claims handling service to major clients.

A Glimpse into Your Daily Responsibilities:

  • Liaison with Insurers, Policyholders and Brokers.
  • Investigation of allocated claims from the desk, or via referral to a field adjuster for site investigation where appropriate.
  • Obtaining all necessary evidence and relevant documentation.
  • Determining appropriate actions for the resolution of the case.
  • Preparation of detailed reports, where required, providing advice on policy indemnity, legal liability, quantum and tactics.
  • Negotiating settlement where appropriate, within agreed authority limits.
  • Corresponding with all parties professionally to proactively progress the case to conclusion.
  • Handling all cases in accordance with the client's requirements by referral to documented procedures at all times.
  • Maintaining a proper reserve at all times by regular review.
  • Keeping updated on any technical changes relevant to your role. This may include participating in training programmes facilitated by the company

Abilities And Knowledge:

Essential:

  • Experience handling EL (Employers Liability) & PL (Public Liability) claims
  • Experience handling personal injury

Desirable:

  • Ideally having handled product and Clinical Negligence
  • Experience handling third-party property damage.

The role would suit either an experienced Liability handler seeking a fresh challenge, or a less experienced handler who is ambitious and can demonstrate an ability to develop the skills and knowledge needed, this is an ideal role for an ambitious candidate.
