Are you an experienced Claims Handler with experience and knowledge across Financial Lines, Construction or Property insurance? If so, a great new opportunity has become available for a Senior Claims Handler to join the Financial Lines specialty team of a reputable insurance brokerage in Liverpool.

Role Overview:

As a Senior Claims Handler, you will play a crucial role in providing an exceptional claims service to the Financial Lines clients. You will ensure professional and efficient management of all claims, from first notification to settlement, and be instrumental in presenting claims management information and reports.

There is an existing portfolio and caseload to be looked after and serviced, with claims spread across different Financial Lines products, primarily managing Construction Professional Indemnity claims.

Therefore, experience within Financial Lines and particularly Construction would be preferred. However, we are also happy to consider applications from individuals with a strong Property Claims background and knowledge of construction terminology, with a desire to do something a bit different.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage claims across various Financial Lines products, ensuring high service standards.
  • Maintain an efficient diary system for all claims, ensuring timely follow-ups.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of Acturis.
  • Provide the broking department and clients with detailed claims information and reports.
  • Handle complex claims in accordance with group procedures.
  • Acknowledge and keep clients informed on new claims to ensure the best outcomes.
  • Produce claims management information and reports as required.
  • Meet with clients to present claims information.
  • Undertake ad-hoc duties as requested by management.
  • Ensure personal continuous professional development (CPD) is up to date.

Experience Required:

  • An experienced Commercial Claims Handler, either from insurer or broker background, ideally with experience across Professional Indemnity and Construction.
  • Good knowledge of different Construction terminology.
  • Strong commercial awareness and full understanding of insurance claims procedures.
  • Passionate about delivering exceptional customer service, applying TCF and KYC methodologies.
  • Highly organised with excellent time management skills.
  • Positive attitude, natural problem solver, and multi-tasker with great attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
