Location: Greenwich Head Office (plus other UK office locations)

Hours / Days: Monday to Friday days; 0800 1700 hours (however, this may vary on business requirements)

Pay Rate: £50,000 per annum plus bonus based on business unit profit (scheme details to be agreed)

Job Purpose:

The position requires a flexible approach to meet the fluctuating demands of the business. This individual will lead this business unit, which runs the UK's mobile patrol, Key Holding and Vacant property business. This business unit is an area of growth for City Group Security and requires a strategic thinker.

The position requires close communication with our Mobile Team, Control Room Manager, Operations Managers, Sales Director, Marketing team and Clients. Our mobile response is a 24-hour business, and they are a big part of the operation, complementing our other service offerings to our clients. The Mobile operations must run smoothly for the company to succeed and grow.

The Mobile Operations Director must ensure all staff members follow the correct standard, carry out their roles as required, and are proactive in their duties. They will also deal with client queries and grow the Mobile Department.

Key Responsibilities for the Mobile Operations Director will include:

  • Responsible for the P&L of the Mobile Patrol business unit, ensuring all costs are kept to a minimum, and the efficiency of the patrol routes maximised
  • Working with the COO and other members of the Executive team on the strategy to grow the business
  • Ensuring that performance levels are monitored, managed and communicated to the Mobile Team
  • Monitor all staff within the Mobile Team and carry out weekly 1-2-1s to ensure all staff are fully trained and improving. Manage holidays and any HR-related issues.
  • Implementing a safety culture within the driving team as well as ensuring that all vehicles are fitted with appropriate tracking and safety solutions
  • Ensure all processes are followed by Mobile staff
  • Identify opportunities to improve business processes and devise plans to implement these changes
  • Ensure strong relationships are built with sub-contractors
  • Design, introduce and implement new service initiatives
  • Complete and communicate the monthly roster to ensure Mobile is fully covered
  • Ensuring excellent service delivery from the Mobile Team, including accurate reports, all shifts covered correctly and all staff trained correctly
  • Ensuring the SmartTask system is fully up to date and accurate at all times, including Runsheets
  • Ensuring all sites have Assignment Instructions and clear guidance on how the Mobile Team need to carry out their role
  • Dealing with Client requests and changes at short notice promptly and efficiently
  • Ensure critical audits are carried out every quarter
  • Monitoring and management of all the vehicles
  • Carry out monthly client meetings (or as required) with Mobile clients and ensure all commercial proposals are sent promptly and updated once approved.

The Individual:

  • SIA License and DBS check
  • Mobile patrol experience is essential for this role
  • UK driving licence with less than six current points
  • Exceptional attendance
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication. This includes responding to emails and verbal requests in a timely and efficient manner
  • An ability to work to tight deadlines and to work well under pressure#
  • Knowledge of computer programs (MS Office)

The duties are not exhaustive or exclusive and responsibilities of a similar nature must be completed.

While the Mobile Operations Manager reports to the Chief Operating Officer, they will need to be self-starters and comfortable working independently and flexing their hours to manage the business and their team.

The post requires a high level of discretion in handling confidential matters and the ability to maintain complete confidentiality regarding Company business and personnel issues.
