As a Financial Analyst, you will play a critical role in providing financial support and analysis to Programme Directors, the Finance Director, and Financial Controllers. Your insights will guide strategic decisions and risk assessments.

Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the monthly management accounts process for UK Defence Aerospace programmes, including journal entries, actuals, forecasts, commentaries, and variance analysis.
  • Deliver financial recommendations to enhance programme performance.
  • Conduct monthly Balance Sheet reviews, validating movements and closing control items.
  • Lead the forecasting process for timely and accurate revenue, cash flow, and profit projections, with comprehensive commentary.
  • Collaborate with Programme, Supply Chain, Inventory, and Pricing teams to facilitate the annual budgeting process and cash forecasting.
  • Manage the monthly Ops and Threat process.
  • Hold regular review meetings with budget holders and Programme Teams, addressing commercial issues and contract pricing queries.
  • Serve as the primary contact for external audit queries, providing timely responses and developing effective remedial controls.
  • Interpret client contracts to identify financial risks and opportunities, presenting feedback to Programme Teams.
  • Prepare and present financial summaries for Long Term Contract Reviews.

Profile

  • Fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) with a degree-level education.
  • Strong SAP and Excel proficiency.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of sharing financial insights across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong prioritisation and self-management abilities, with experience in meeting internal and external reporting deadlines.
  • Business partnering experience, with the ability to challenge established practices, is highly desirable.
  • Customer-focused with a proven ability to influence and drive performance in a corporate setting.
