We are seeking a Cover Manager / Learning Supervisor for a permanent position at a leading school in the Uxbridge area. About the Role: This is a split role, with mornings focused on organising cover for absent staff, ensuring minimal disruption to students' learning. In the afternoons, you will provide classroom cover where needed and manage a team of three Cover Supervisors. The ideal candidate will be someone who is calm, adaptable, and capable of handling multiple responsibilities with ease. This is an excellent position for an experienced administrator looking to transition into teaching or someone seeking to build their career within the education sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Morning Cover Management: You will coordinate daily staff cover and manage sickness absence, ensuring all classes are adequately covered.
- Team Management: Line manage three Cover Supervisors, supporting them in their duties and ensuring smooth daily operations.
- Classroom Cover: Provide classroom supervision for short-term teacher absences, assisting with lesson plans and managing students in the teacher's absence.
- Collaboration: Work closely with senior leadership, supply agencies, and internal teams to ensure seamless cover arrangements.
- Administration: Maintain accurate records of staff absences and cover arrangements. Assist with producing reports and updating management systems.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Organisation & Calmness Under Pressure: Able to juggle multiple tasks efficiently and remain calm when under pressure.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to liaise with internal staff and external agencies.
- Leadership Potential: Previous experience managing a team is a plus, but not required. You should be confident in providing guidance and mentoring.
- Adaptability: Happy to step into classroom cover and provide hands-on support where needed.
- Interest in Teaching: This role is well-suited for someone considering a career in teaching, as it provides a great stepping stone into the educational environment.
- IT Proficiency: Comfortable using school management systems, and capable of learning and adapting to new systems quickly. Familiarity with SIMS (School Information Management System) is desirable but not essential.
