IT Manager

We are seeking a proactive and versatile hands-on IT Manager who is passionate about problem-solving and capable of managing our clients IT infrastructure efficiently. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in both independent and team settings, adapts quickly to new challenges, and possesses excellent time management and communication skills.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Conduct daily backups and server checks, including both physical and virtual servers.
- Perform monthly updates on Microsoft Servers across servers and PCs.
- Manage occasional out-of-hours work, including occasional Saturday mornings for server updates and evening oversight for third-party software installations.
- Set up new PCs and laptops, manage licenses, SSL certificate renewals, and user accounts including creation and archiving.
- Coordinate and manage printer and multi-function copier setups.
- Project manage significant network changes, software upgrades, and new installations.
- Ensure compliance with UK GDPR, WEEE regulations for equipment disposal, and manage data copying, storage, and deletion.
- Maintain working relationships with the firm's software support houses and manage networks, telephony, communications, and digital dictation systems.
- Review and assess supplier contract renewals and manage hardware orders.
- Administer phone system changes, Exchange server email diverts, and VPN user setup including license management.
- Monitor firewall and cybersecurity, and prepare user accounts for new starters including room and workstation allocation, induction, and training.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Demonstrable experience in managing IT hardware & systems, preferably within a similar environment.
- Strong ability to work independently and as part of a team in high-pressure situations.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with partners, colleagues, and suppliers.
- Proficiency in managing server updates, software installations, and hardware setups.
- Knowledge of GDPR, WEEE regulations, and general data management practices.
- Experience with network management, telephony systems, and cybersecurity monitoring.
- Ability to manage out-of-hours work as required for system updates and installations.
