An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant to the National Accounts Manager for an office-based role in Sutton. This position offers a competitive salary structure, with a Year 1 base salary of £22,308 (with ability to earn commission), Year 2 on target salary expectations of £25k + uncapped commission and from Year 3 onwards, a salary of £27-30k + uncapped commission.

This role is based within a business that is considered a leading provider in their field, well established with a fantastic reputation servicing a diverse range of industries, including hospitality, construction, security, education, and many more.

This role would be ideal for someone with some sales experience looking to move into account management and seeking career progression. The Assistant will work alongside the National Account Manager (NAM), assisting with all aspects of the role. Following training, the Assistant will play a pivotal role in driving sales and maintaining strong relationships with key clients. This position requires excellent communication skills and an outgoing, confident personality.

The Assistant will have the opportunity to learn and develop a wide range of skills, including building relationships with prospective and active clients, understanding clients' immediate and long-term needs, proposing tailored, cost-effective solutions, and providing customer support. There will also be opportunities for promotion within the company.

Day to day responsibilities:

  • Read & action NAM's inbox in her absence
  • Speak with & assist NAM's clients in her absence
  • Assist NAM with quotations, appointment sheets & other documents & processes as required
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, understanding their unique needs and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Develop strategies to achieve sales targets
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics to identify opportunities for business expansion
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the market, presenting our products and services to potential clients
  • Conduct negotiations with clients to secure favourable terms and agreements, ensuring mutually beneficial outcomes

Learning & Development Opportunities:

  • Building relationships over the phone with prospective and active clients
  • Developing an understanding of clients' immediate and long-term needs
  • Proposing tailored, cost effective solutions that deliver the right results
  • To provide customer support over the telephone
  • Maintain and develop ongoing customer relationships
  • Up sell to clients to include service agreements, equipment upgrades, annual maintenance visits
  • Research and source new leads
  • Liaising and negotiating with suppliers
  • Attend networking events as required
  • Full product training in-house & at manufacturer's premises
  • Encourage referrals
  • Maintain accurate data on the in-house CRM system
  • Product training
