We have an exciting opportunity for an NQ or Assistant Lawyer to join an expert Crime and Regulatory department, and work alongside a highly experienced partner on criminal regulatory and inquest work, including matters relating to health and safety, environment, motor, food, fire and product safety.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a lawyer to learn from an experienced team, build client relationships in the corporate world, and provide first class legal solutions to complex technical problems.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Review and analysis of prosecution evidence
- Drafting statements of clients / witnesses
- Review of clients evidence
- Liaising with Court, Coroner's Office, clients and CQC/Police/HSE or relevant regulator
- Liaising with experts - instructing own experts, summarising expert evidence, serving reports
- Serving Defence case statements
- Drafting written submissions
- Reviewing and producing transcripts of evidence
- Organising and attending meetings, conferences, interviews trials etc.
The successful candidate will have rights of audience in the Magistrates' and Coroner's Court. Attention to detail, good communication skills and ability to work well in a team is also essential.
