Job Title: Support Worker - Young Adults
Location: Westbury Park, Bristol (Good transport links and free parking available on site)
Hourly Rate: £11.83-£12.78ph - Linked to experience and qualifications.
Annual Salary: £24,606.40 - £26,582.00 Pro rata PLUS £1500 Welcome bonus*
Hours: 20 hours per week - (working to a 2 week rota pattern which may include working on a weekend) Overtime is also available.

We are currently seeking a part time support worker to join a supported living service based in Westbury Park. The provision supports 7-8 vulnerable adults aged 19+ by providing a homely supported living and learning environment for those with severe and complex learning difficulties and challenging behaviour.

The role:
As a support workers you will be supporting young people with all aspects of their supported living (including personal care) and supporting them in a wide range of learning, development and social activities including arts and crafts, cookery, music, gardening, swimming, shopping trips and fun social occasions.
You will be working 1:1 with a resident on each shift where you will have the freedom to plan their day in line with their choices and wishes, enabling them to be as independent as possible, seeing them thrive and enjoying making memories.

We are looking for pro-active individuals who can demonstrate compassion, empathy and a person-centred approach to supporting our young people.

Successful candidate are likely to demonstrate:

  • Previous care experience
  • The ability to work to a rota pattern that includes working every other weekend
  • Exceptional communication skills, empathy and understanding.
  • Motivated to learn and to go the extra mile.
  • Ability to guide and encourage supportive independence when possible.
  • Good interpersonal, communication and team working skills.
  • An active approach to the role
